Let’s come together to support an outstanding opportunity for young Texans arriving in Corpus Christi as part of Buc Days 2026. We are looking for energetic volunteers to help run a high-speed, high-energy VEX IQ Robotics competition. A background check is required for this role which takes at least 24 hours to complete so please sign up early!
No prior robotics experience? No problem! We provide all necessary training in advance via digital guides, with a hands-on refresher briefing on the morning of the event.
Shift Options:

Full Day (Highly Encouraged): 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Afternoon Shift: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Available Roles:

Scorekeeper Referee (4): Watch matches, record scores on tablets, and ensure fair play.

Field Resetter (5): The “pit crew” of the field! Quickly reset game objects between matches.

Team Queuer (2): Traffic control—keep teams moving from the pits to the fields on time.

Robot Inspector (3): Use a simple checklist to ensure robots are competition-ready.

Pit Admin / Check-In (2): The face of the event! Greet teams and answer general questions.

TM / Live Stream Operator (1): Tech-savvy volunteers to run the match timers and score displays. You will also control the live stream using standard OBS software.

Emcee (2): Bring the hype! Provide play-by-play commentary for the crowd.
